The marine and offshore HVAC expert has been awarded the contract to supply the HVAC for the world’s largest cutter[ds_preview] suction dredger. The 164m »Spartacus« will be built for DEME by Royal IHC and is expected to be delivered in the summer of 2019.

With a total installed power of 44.180 kW the vessel will be among the most powerful cutter suction dredgers of its time. It is also the world’s first LNG-powered dredger of this kind. Other innovations onboard, such as a waste heat recovery system that converts heat from the exhaust gasses to energy used in the HVAC system, contribute to the »greenness« of the ship. Furthermore, through LNG cold energy recovery waste energy will partially be reused to cool the chilled water. The ship will be equipped with Heinen & Hopman heating, mechanical ventilation and air conditioning serving the accommodation areas and engine room.
