The Simek shipyard, located in Flekke­fjord, Norway, has chosen HVAC- and refrigeration system expert Teknotherm Marine to deliver the[ds_preview] freezing plant with a dimensioning freezing capacity of 150t of fish per 24 hrs for a new trawler. It is the yard‘s biggest contract ever. The 82,9m freezer trawler will be destined for Sealord Group in Nelson, New Zealand. The storage capacity on board is over 3,300m3, of which 1,700m3 are to be kept on -30° C by means of air coolers mounted under deck for natural air circulation. Further, there are two rooms for storage of fish meal in total 600m3, with fan cooling units to be installed. The refrigerating machinery is based on pump circulation of ammonia, R-717, and includes 3 screw compressors, all for optimized power consumption at varying loads. Delivery of equipment is estimated to be in third quarter 2017.
