DESMI Ocean Guard announced that the Japanese classification society ClassNK recently issued type approval certificate for the DESMI Ocean Guard[ds_preview] OxyCleanTM ballast water treatment system. OxyClean has so far been approved by four major classification societies besides having the AMS acceptance from US Coast Guard (USCG). According to its manufacturer, OxyClean was the first system in the world to be type-approved also in fresh water, and was the first system to receive AMS acceptance from USCG covering all three water salinities. On the occasion of the 5 th anniversary of DESMI Ocean Guard the company reported to date achievements, among others setting the standard with regard to fresh water and low UVT levels and »being able to sell some systems in a really tough market«.
