MAN Diesel & Turbo SE recently was awarded approval in principle for its SCR system for the entire medium-speed engine[ds_preview] portfolio fulfilling IMO Tier III regulations by the China Classification Society (CCS). According to the company testing took place on an MAN 8L21/31 auxiliary engine with an integrated SCR system but the certificate applies to the entire medium-speed engine portfolio. The MAN-built engine is bound for the DFDS Seaways RoRo vessel »Petunia Seaways«.

In December 2013, MAN Diesel & Turbo signed a Framework Agreement with CCS for Technical Cooperation during Marintec China.

Furthermore MAN Diesel & Turbo has won an order for three MAN 6L21/31 gensets to power a wellboat newbuilding for Patagonia Wellboat, the Chilean fish-farming operator. The new wellboat will be built at Asenav – Chile’s largest, private shipbuilder – in Valdivia. It will be the first vessel in a new generation of wellboats designed and developed by Asenav in cooperation with Patagonia Wellboat. Engine delivery is scheduled for Q4 2015 with vessel delivery expected May 2016. The new order includes an option for an extra, identical wellboat.
