Danish naval architect Knud E. Hansen has established a business unit dedicated to »Marine HVAC Design« specialized as an independent[ds_preview] detailed design expert providing HVAC related services including 3D modelling. The new unit is owed to company growth and the need for independent experts, the company states. Delivering custom-made solutions based on clients’ interests is thus in focus. The architects claim to have extensive HVAC design capacities already.

The Danish experts have a track record of HVAC projects for a wide range of vessels including ships of the defence sector, e.g. the »Queen Elizabeth«-class aircraft carrier and type 26 frigate for the British Ministry of Defence. Further experience has been gained in the cruise segment with an HVAC contract for »QM2« and the more recent »Edge« project. Throughout the design and engineering process, the new business unit will be able to implement numerous tools to increase the efficiency of a maritime HVAC system. This includes the utilisation of various specialised software packages to accomplish tasks such as 2D and 3D visualisations, 3D coordination, outfitting and steel module design, and the calculation of heat loads. Design services will also encompass vessel refits and conversions, Knud E. Hansen says.
